2,000 Miles of Lessons

PROJECT OVERVIEW

One fateful day in the fall of 2014, a friend of mine told me of a challenge to run 2,015 miles in the upcoming year. Just over 5.5 miles a day, 365 days in a row. Amid my blind searching for meaning and purpose at that moment in my life, nearly lacking the will to keep moving forward in life, the challenge was just absurd enough to spark me to action.

I had no idea what would happen along the way; I just knew that all I had tried to do to break free from the chains in my mind had not yet yielded the results for which I was so desperate. I needed this. Within seconds of hearing about the challenge, I was committed, come what may. There was just one thing. How in the world do you run 2,015 miles?

What would follow would be a journey that would not only take me places I’d never been but also teach me lessons I never could have learned otherwise. The person forged by the miles, the sweat, and even the blood was not just physically stronger, but emotionally invigorated and mentally empowered to overcome any obstacle life could throw.

Now, after years of keeping those secrets to myself, I have decided it’s time to share…2,000 miles of lessons.
